Information & Biography
When Amanda Rogers started playing shows she usually shared the stage with emo and hardcore bands. Obviously it's not the easiest task for a young girl with a piano to open shows when guitar riffs, great hair, emo/punk bands would take the stage afterwards. So it takes something wonderful, if not miraculous, to transform a room of conversation and doubt into a hush of attentive silence. Amanda Rogers' appearance on stage seems to have what is needed - usually by the end of her first song a pin drop could be heard, until deafening applause and overwhelming surprise flooded the showplace.
Since the late 1990ies upstate New York native Amanda Rogers has opened up shows for some of the most acclaimed rock, emo, and jam bands in the industry. After self-releasing several recordings Immigrant Sun released her album "The Places You Dwell" in 2003, followed by a even faster growing interest in Miss Rogers' music. After playing clubs and indie venues, now as the headliner herself, she recorded her next album "Daily News", followed by a first European tour in the summer of 2004 along with Lovitt Records' Bats And Mice. After the release of "Daily News" she came back to Europe later that year, with a massive growth in attendance within just a couple of months.
Since then Amanda Rogers has released an EP containing new songs and breathtaking covers of songs by Radiohead and At The Drive-In, played numerous shows in the States and two more tours in Europe. In 2008 "Heartwood", the new album, is finally to be released - and nobody will deny that is has been worth the long wait.
